Patsy Sue (Craft) Gilley was born on June 7, 1947 in Shaw, Mississippi to the late Mary Frances (Sessions) Craft and Ethel Mathew Craft. She passed into her Savior’s loving arms on Thursday, July 27, 2023 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 76 years old.
Patsy was a devoted child of God who loved her family unconditionally. The more people she could surround herself with, the happier she was. Her nieces and nephews have fond memories of sleepovers throughout the years. Life with Patsy was filled with celebration, even if there wasn’t an official occasion. She loved Gospel music and singing. Patsy sang in the church choir for most of her life. Family harmony was her favorite. She would have the family sing at every get together and would even want to take music to the neighbors at Christmas time with caroling. As much as she loved singing, she loved giving. She would have given away every dollar she had to help someone else in need. Patsy loved dogs and was never without one throughout her lifetime. The family will always remember every get together, cooking for the holidays, eating out, and her love for people. Everyone she met was “kid” and immediately welcomed in as a an honorary family member. Everyone knew her and referred to her as Aunt Pat.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 31 years, Louie Franklin Gilley, Jr. and her brother, Glen Craft.
She is survived by her brother, Duane Craft and wife, Glenda of Boyd; sister, Renee Arterbury and husband, Carl of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Terry Craft of Fort Worth; nieces and nephews: Peggy Craft of Boyd; Wanda Parker of Boyd, Vickie Woodall and husband, Billy of Springtown; Valarie Sprinkle and husband, Mike of Azle, Crystal Craft, Jeff Arterbury and wife, Trisha of Fort Worth, Mark Arterbury and wife, Monica of Fort Worth, and Kimberly Joyner and husband, Bryan of Fort Worth.
